This
sweeping tour program
takes you from the Fall
of France and the
miracle of Dunkirk to
the return of the Allies
to French soil on June
6th, 1945 and the fight
to gain and maintain a
foothold on Fortress
Europe. Visit the
Cabinet War rooms in
Whitehall and see where
Churchill directed the
British Empire's
comeback from almost
certain defeat to the
unconditional surrender
of Nazi Germany. Visit
Dieppe the site of the
1942 raid, where without
the valuable lessons,
gained at such
sacrifice, the success
of the Normandy Invasion
would have been much
less likely. Our travel
and history experts will
ensure that you
experience and
appreciate the sites and
events of this period
when the world stood on
the verge of a decent
into another dark age
from which we may not
have emerged
This program explores the
war time environs of London and the
channel coast and then takes you across
to the France where we visit the
locations of many of the great events of
World War II such as Dunkirk, Dieppe and
the beaches of the Normandy Invasion.
Also visit the ancient cities of Caen
and Bayeux where that other great cross
channel invasion of history, William in
1066, originated from and is pictured in
the world famous Bayeux Tapestry. Return
to England through Portsmouth, one of
the main jumping off points off the
D-day invasion and enjoy a farewell
dinner at the Army and Navy Club on Pall
Mall in London.
